Car Audio Competition organizations dBDRA (dB Drag Racing Association), MECA (Mobile Electronics Competition Association) and IASCA (International Autosound Challenge Association) are once again joining forces to produce a unified finals event. The event will be held at the Kentucky Exposition Center, during the weekend of October 15-16, 2016. This event will include all competitors from SQ to SPL and will allow for the opportunity to compete in multiple formats.
With the success of the 2014 and 2015 Car Audio Championship we have added an additional building to the event making the event space over 110,000 square feet. The increased space will allow for the maximum allotted show times and we feel this will keep the competition running smoothly. In addition to the competition vehicles, there will be vendor booths along with show sponsorships as well.
“With hopes that we could return to Huntsville, IASCA Worldwide, along with our partners realized that the growth of the event required more room and we had to look at options” said Moe Sabourin, Director of Operations for IASCA “The Kentucky Expo Center provides us that extra room necessary to produce the event effectively. This continued collaboration of our organizations shows the industry that our goal is to help promote the 12 volt industry; with support from industry, we can turn this event into one of the top events in the country for car audio.”
“The dBDRA is super excited to be back in Louisville, KY. It’s been a long time since we hosted Finals in Louisville, and it seems to be centrally located for the competitors. A larger space was needed after we were busting at the seams, last year, in Huntsville.” Said dB Drag Racing Association Marketing Director, Celise Harris “The collaborative effort of the organizations is a huge benefit to all of the parties involved and we are looking forward to another great event.”
Commissioner Steve Stern on the event: “MECA (Mobile Electronics Competition Association, Inc.) will meet for the conclusion of our 18th season to determine our 2016 World Champions in Sound Quality League and Sound Pressure League contests, along with our Show & Shine for cars/trucks/motorcycles. Working to host our Finals with dB Drag Racing and IASCA has been good for our club, bringing a heightened awareness and respect for car audio sports at the highest level. I’m excited and looking forward to the event. The car audio/mobile electronics community comes together for this event, and the industry we serve benefits from this united effort and showcase, on a grand scale.”
