SQL Finals this weekend info
Thanks to all making plans to be in Nashville for our SQL World Finals Soundfest. Other than 4 SPL tests for BOBOS competitors, this event is strictly Sound Quality League contests. Since judging is an all day thing, no loud music or demos of any sort are permitted.
There is ample room for our event, including trailer parking which is free. Camping, tents, RV’s, campers are permitted and there is no charge.
Check-in Friday begins at 3 PM. Vehicles may be left overnight.Check-in Saturday and Sunday begins at 7:30 AM each day.
Competitor meeting Saturday morning at 8:45 AM.
If your judging times are on Sunday, you do not have to check in until Sunday morning.
We intend to judge under the pavilion and will have a generator for electric hook-up, if needed.
There is no program for Friday night, although a visit to Caney Fork Restaurant on Music Valley Drive is suggested for live, unamplified bluegrass music by the MelTones. No charge with dinner. Music ends at 9 PM.
Saturday evening we will have live unamplified music at the Fairgrounds with a jam sesssion including Mike Flanagan on Bass, Kevin Keen on Mandolin, and I’ll be chugging along with guitar. All MECA Members are invited to bring instruments, and this will start around 8 or 8:30 PM.
We have a BBQ dinner (pulled pork, pulled chicken and the fixin’s) Sunday afternoon around 4 PM, with awards to follow.
Please do not attend the event if you are feeling ill in any manner. Social distancing and masks are strongly encouraged.
Please make sure you have your vehicle registration and insurance papers with you.
The weather is looking very good, a little chlly, but sunny and clear. The Fairgrounds are “primitive” in some ways, but this is a beautiful setting for our club events.
