Our annual SQL Judge Training session here in Tennessee will be held on March 20th in Clarksville, at Audio Specialists. This will be a full day of info, insights, and much time allowed for listening to some of the best systems in the club with guidance from our experienced Judge Team.We are keenly aware that many enthusiasts, competitors, do not fully understand how and why the Judges evaluate and score as they do. We are going to present award winning systems in different classes to demonstrate real-world listening experiences. We are looking for new Judge talent, with performance and skill being key factors in building our Judge pool. The most objective, consistent, and accurate trainees will be identified and, hopefully, they will join the Judge Pool. This training is also for Event Directors who need to know the SQL side of the club, so that they are qualified to judge, if needed.Participation is limited, at this time, to 18. This is for MECA Members only, and if competing in 2021, we would like to have at least 2 contests dedicated to Judging, with appropriate Judge pay and Points earned.I am looking at options for us for live music, since the Symphony is not hosting events at this time.We usually get together about 7 PM on Friday night for dinner and live bluegrass music, unamplified, at the Caney Fork Restaurant on Music Valley Drive in Nashville. The county rules for dining out apply and I’m keeping an eye on county and state rules in case we could not do that.Cost for Saturday’s training session is $75 and includes lunch and the “SQL Judge Stuff” booklet that is jammed packed with info and source material. All spots are reserved and paid for in advance, 1st come 1st served basis.More info to follow. To pre-register, or questions, for this SQL Judge Training event, please use PM here or [email protected] to message me. Send payments via PayPal to [email protected] to the crew at Audio Specialists for donating their time and property for Judge Training on Saturday and Sunday’s 3X March Madness SQL contest. Our 2021 SQL Rule Book has been sent to R&E for final review, and it’s ready to hatch, and I hope to have it posted by Monday. No real changes or surprises, other than clarification and grammar. All trainees should print the 2021 SQL Rule Book for study and notes at the training.Trainers and vehicle/system list coming soon.
