2026 MECA Kids Rulebook

The 2025 MECA Kids Rulebook outlines the rules and regulations for the MECA Kids competition, intended for young members to engage in club activities and sports competition interactions.

  • Purpose and Intent: MECA Kids is designed for MECA Members and their children to participate in club activities and learn about sports competition interactions.
  • Class Descriptions: There are three classes: MKSP for ages 0-15 with specific system requirements, MKX for vehicles not meeting MKSP rules or not operated by a MECA Kid, and MKDB for all MECA Kids with qualifying vehicles and systems.
  • Basic Rules: Vehicles must be commercially available electric toys, powered by a 12-volt battery, and operated by the child. Safety inspections are required, and no body modifications to increase SPL are allowed. Hearing protection is mandatory for children during competition.
  • System Requirements: Specific system requirements are outlined for each class, including restrictions on the number of woofers, amplifiers, and enclosure dimensions. MKSP has strict guidelines, while MKDB mirrors MECA’s Park & Pound rules with specific sensor placement.
